Please respect the beach areas by using garbage cans and portable washrooms provided. The following items are not permitted at our beaches; dogs, ATV’s, soap products in the water and overnight parking or camping.

The Township of Strong has a number of beach access points for the public to enjoy:

  • Checkerboard Beach Located at the corner of Lakeshore Drive and Pevensey Road on Sunny Beach Road. This beach is a great place to start your day whether it be you’re swimming, windsurfing or relaxing. This location has small sandy beach and washroom on site.
  • Union Street Beach located at the end of Union Street, off of Main Street and Forest Lake Road. This smaller beach is a great place to cool down on hot summer days. This location has a sandy beach and washrooms on site.
  • South Lake Bernard Beach Located across from Lake Bernard Trailer Park on South Lake Bernard Road. This sandy beach is great for the kids. There is boat access, washrooms and playground equipment available.
  • Sunnyridge Beach Located at the corner of Albert and High Rock Drive, on Sunny Ridge Road. This quiet sandy beach is a great place to relax during the summer months, with a washroom on site.
  • Pool Lake Boat Ramp can be accessed by South Lake Bernard Road and is a popular spot for fishing.
