The first settlers arrived in the land know as The Township of Strong as early as 1876 and was incorporated in 1877. The municipality is a single tier township in the province of Ontario, Canada. Located in the Parry Sound District, the Township surrounds but does not include the Village of Sundridge. The Township surrounds Lake Bernard, which is claimed to be the world’s largest freshwater lake without an island. The lake is the most important asset. It attracts people in all seasons for swimming, fishing, sailing, canoeing, skating and many other sports. It provides photographers and artists with endless hours of recreation.
